This is the homepage for the urine-test mailing list. The list was started to provide a place for the discussion of urine tests. The scope of the list includes basically all issues regarding or related to drug testing. Some issues included in this area for example are testing in the workplace, ethics of drug testing, accuracy of available drug tests, new forms of drug tests, methods used to foil drug tests, etc. Urine test hasn't been that active lately. I would like to get more people to join and contribute. There are a lot of interesting and sometimes even scary developments in terms of drug testing including tests to determine the contents of sweat and the recent efforts to implement mandatory drug testing for all people arrested, whether convicted or not. This sounds blatently unconstitutional to me but I'm no lawyer.

Drug Testing's Smoking Gun(s)

ROBERT L. DUPONT (former drug czar & former head of NIDA) was and maybe still is a partner in one of the largest urine testing companies. After promoting urine testing for years in government and making mandatory drug tests part of many Federal contracts, DuPont joined Carlton Turner (former drug czar) and Peter Bensinger (another former head of NIDA) in contracting as advisors to 250 of the largest corporations to corner the drug testing market. In a similar situation, former NYC DEA Bureau Chief Robert Stutman having lobbied for stiffer laws for years, and having left the agency now makes his living by owning Complete Compliance, a drug testing and consulting firm which assists small business in complying with new Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration drug and alcohol testing regulations.

Drug Testing Products

A note on drug testing products:(quoted from the drug testing FAQ) There are commercial and household products that will help you pass the test. Some people are object to commercial products because they "are just trying to cash in on the War on Drugs." They also charge high prices and water alone tends to work for most. Also, be aware that Texas outlawed products with the sole purpose of creating negative results on urine tests. I have put a (c) next to the commercial products to indicate that they are developed specifically for beating the test. Those of you that oppose them or reside in Texas can skip items with a (c). Ignore money-back guarantees. Companys that suck in thousands of High Times readers make so much, that a few returns from motivated users are insignificant. People could even get away with offering a money-back guarentee for Goldenseal because all the water that people drink with Goldenseal causes most of them to pass. Some companys don't keep their word. A urinator who tested positive sent the lab results back, only to be told that marijuana is illegal. He was not even compensated for buying a failing product."
ACS "Herbal Tea" Company - has "cleansing solutions" which they claim will flush THC and prescription drugs out of your system in 3 hours. I am very wary of their claims.(c)
Student Drug Test Management Software - They say: "SAI has developed a PC-based system that will help school administrators streamline and control their district's drug testing policy. Each district can customize the system according to the attributes of your existing drug testing policy. Whether you have a few students or a few thousand, TestSelect will function smoothly and efficiently."
Clean 'n Clear's Drug Testing Page
A-Z Enterprises Inc has some product which they claim (and I quote) "TEST'in actually changes the DNA structure of the blood cells" They also have some shampoo which will somehow (I guess) wash 'toxins' out of your hair but probably does nothing since supposedly the metabolites are in the structure of the hair itself, not stuck to the outside of it.(c)
PartyHut Enterprises - I dunno. call me a skeptic.(c)
"Testpure" products - this might be the shadiest of this type of company I have listed here. They give no clue as to what their product is, how it works, or much more about their product than "Currently 99.8% of our customers are satisfied with our product".(c)
The Stuff - Sounds to me like it might kill you. -[ed] "This pleasant-tasting powdered drink mix works by forming a barrier in the bladder, temporarily retaining all solids while clean water colored by B vitamins to look like normal urine passes. The product blocks detection not only of actual toxins, but of environmental factors known to cause false positives."(c)
